I got an email today from a friend and I could not believe what I was seeing. Apparently because of my blogs and their opinions on certain niche’s, apparently Glenn Beck (Right Wing Enthusiast) found out who I was and went on the attack. It wasn’t just me that he was going after though, it was my friends, my family and even business partners. I am so sorry if he ended up mentioning you on the news or in his blasts. Here is the video.
Ok so this is actually not true at all. The reality behind this video is that it is an absolutely brilliant marketing campaign. Whether or not you agree with the left side, the right side or are somewhere down the middle, you have to give credit to the creativity behind this campaign. What happened was someone sent me an email to this site. I clicked on it and let it connect to my facebook account. All of the sudden when it started to play it filled in my name into all of those places, on the chalkboard it pulled in friends of mine and placed there names in parts of it. Other places featured even more details of me and details that friends of mine shared.
The campaign unfortunately is to bash someone which I am not ok with. Whether you agree with his views or not, it is not ok to bash people for no real reason. What is amazing and why I have this video here is that it is an amazing idea and seriously cool marketing campaign. They took a fake news channel, cnnbc and then combined it with Facebook to instantly customize it to match anybody on earth and made it worth sharing with your friends. At the end they give a message to bash someone which is where I am opposed, regardless of who it is. On the other hand this is an extremely creative marketing campaign and one that is more than worthy of sharing. If you would like me to send you the link to instantly create your own version where Glenn Beck bashes you, leave a comment below and include your email address on the email address line and I’ll use that to send the invite. If I would connect to Facebook again the video above would actually customize more. The people that created this campaign did an amazing job.

HAHA and scary at the same time.
I agree, poor intent but cool technology and idea if used creatively and productively.
Sometimes you have to wonder why insanely creative people waste their talents bashing people. Awesome idea and campaign, bad intentions.
Hilarious (up until the end). I’ve seen a few videos like this and it is brilliant marketing. One of my favorites was when the show Dexter launched and you could send a video and put a name in of a friend and it created this whole news story on some killer who was coming after that person. Good stuff.
That’s awesome! Do you have a link to the Dexter video?
